Our children’s classes focus on the basics of visual arts and aim to challenge young people’s inventiveness and develop their imagination as they explore different mediums.

This 4 week course does bring together some of Turner’s painting methods after all he was a magnificent painter of light! BUT let’s try something different!
This course is about colour, reflections and of course light and shadow. Paint scenes from the diverse landscapes of the Mornington Peninsula – stunning creeks and streams, trees, rocks cliff faces and rocks, the rolling landscape the rugged coast and stunning beaches.

Create a finished painting during the course from start to finish or several small ones.

I will go through several ideas of how to approach a unique composition, some new ideas in underpainting the subject and getting the most out of light. Demonstrations on water and reflection, painting trees, rocks etc. You are encouraged to work on your own choice of composition, or you can follow mine.
