About Art Groups

Peninsula Arts offers several untutored art groups where members come together in our well equipped and comfortable studios to work on personal art projects while enjoying the camaraderie, inspiration and shared learning that comes from working alongside fellow artists.

LIFE DRAWING

Currently running

This is an untutored group session for members only.

Saturday 10.00 pm – 12.30 pm
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the session.
Studio: Large
Cost:  $20 per week (includes live model fee)
Description:
This untutored studio group is focused on studying the human form, which is fundamental to so many other art endeavours. Hone your skills in a supportive atmosphere.

WEEKLY BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL
The number of attendees will be capped at 14.

PORTRAIT GROUP

This is an untutored group session for members only.
Studio: Large
Time: Thursday 9.30 am – 12.00 noon
Cost:  $10 per week (includes model fee)
Description:
Build your observational drawing skills while working on different ways to approach portraiture. Members are always welcome in this friendly group.

SOCIAL PAINTING (Wed evening)

This is an untutored group session for members only.
Studio: Large
Time: Wednesday 6.30 pm – 9.00 pm
Cost:  $45 per term, $25 per half term
Description:
Bring along whatever you want to work on and enjoy sharing the time and space with like-minded people. All media, all levels.

FRIDABBLERS (Friday morning)

This is an untutored group session for members only.

Time: Friday 9.00 am – 12.00 pm
Cost:  $54 per term; $30 per half term
Description:
This popular group enjoys having a cuppa and a chat while they work on their many and diverse current art projects. Working in a group enhances inspiration, learning and friendship.

TUESDAY WATERCOLOUR

This is an untutored group session for members only.
Studio: Large
Time: Tuesday 9.00 am – 12 pm
Cost:  $54 per term; $30 per half term
Description:
This is a very popular and successful untutored watercolour group. Bring along your project and work alongside other watercolour lovers. Enjoy the social atmosphere – make friends and learn from each other.

TEXTILE ART GROUP

Currently running

This is an untutored group session for members only.
Studio: Small
Time: Friday 12.30 pm – 3 pm
Cost:  $45 per term; $25 per half term
Description:
Members are welcome to come along and work on any portable textile project. Interests are wide-ranging – felting, eco-dyeing, mixed media, slow stitching,  embroidery and knitting. There is always someone around to help you get out of a knotty situation!

Otherwise, the PAS Plein Air group is not currently active. Please let us know if you are interested in coordinating plein air sessions or in attending them. Please note that the sessions would likely be untutored and you would need to be a PAS member to be involved. Contact Peninsula Arts Society for more infomation.

WRITING GROUP

This is an untutored group where members share skills and ideas, enjoy writing challenges, and receive positive feedback from colleagues. Bring your own work and enjoy the company of others.

EXPERIMENTAL WATERCOLOUR

Currently in recess – we are looking for somebody to re-establish and coordinate this group.

An untutored group for water media painters interested in exploring and sharing innovative ways of working using a variety of tools, techniques and materials The focus will be on process and experimentation rather than product, , trying new ideas, finding different ways to create textures and effects, trying new methods to push you out of your comfort zone, loosen up and unleash creativity.
