Plein Air Session ~ Beleura House, Mornington

Plein Air Group News

JAN 2022

Plein air artists at work in the gardens of Beleura House, Mornington

Recipe for summer creativity at Beleura

Take beautiful gardens, lunch and greenery at Beleura House and Garden, Mornington, and mix with 26 artists from PAS and University of Third Age Mornington for a wonderfully creative morning.

Give everyone the opportunity to wander around the Roman ruins, the rose garden, the Japanese garden, the long avenues of trees and bush, or cluck at the hens in the heritage henhouse and allow the sun to shine, but not too hotly.

Result: a feast of great art and ladles of enjoyment!

U3A provided 5 tutors to assist (without demonstrating). There were plenty of keen artists trying to settle on which scene to paint, the parking was within the main gate – most unusual – and nothing went wrong!

Other inspiring plein air locations have included Mornington harbour, Mornington Cemetery, the Frankston Pentland Botanic Gardens with it’s diverse native vegetation, lake and water birds, and the McClelland Sculpture Park and Gallery .
