Malcolm Beattie

Peninsula Arts tutor Malcolm Beattie

A professional artist, Malcolm places great emphasis on the composition and content of a subject. Combined with sound draftsmanship and an understanding of tonal contrasts and colour, this focus produces paintings which are both visually interesting and straightforward statements of everyday places and things around us.

His work is available through a number of Melbourne and regional galleries. He runs his own school at his studio at 186 Through Road, Camberwell and is a tutor at Peninsula Arts Society. He conducts classes in both watercolour and oil painting technique, and undertakes regular workshops and demonstrations throughout Australia.

Malcolm has won many prizes and commendations at regional and rotary art shows, and has been a major prize winner at the Camberwell Art Show. His work is represented in corporate and private collections.
